Monkee's of Lake Norman Raises more than
$1,000 for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society  

Davidson boutique also named Best Shoe Store in town by the editors at Charlotte Magazine

DAVIDSON -- Led by owner Sandy Bowers, Monkee's of Lake Norman and Monkee's on Main recently raised more than $1,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on behalf of one of their favorite and most loyal friends, Summer Hall.  

Cancer has touched the lives of so many, and the Monkettes were anxious to do their part to help raise funds and awareness. Some women -- like Sandy's mother Marian McGowan -- fight valiantly but can overtake it. Others, such as Monkee's of Lake Norman's own Lane Dunker, battle through to become survivors.
 
Then there are more women, like Summer Hall, who raise money for and awareness of cancer, a disease that has touched far too many mothers, daughters and families. As part of her campaign for Woman of the Year, Summer enlisted the help of Monkee's of Lake Norman.  

On May 7 in the Davidson boutique a portion of the day's sales went to Summer's campaign, totalling more than $1,000.

Philanthropy is of paramount importance to Monkee's owner Sandy, who was recently named one of the five most stylish people in Charlotte. She is active in a variety of charitable organizations, especially the Leukemia and Lymphoma

We are so excited to have recently been included in Charlotte Magazine's Style Editor Jenn Grabenstetter's blog! She had been enamoured with the Hermes wrap strap watch, and had been searching for a more affordable option. One day we posted them on our Facebook page when they were hot out of the box from NYC and she went bananas!
